And 2016 is here… shit. The year that I don’t go back to school but instead embark on my own adventures and spend my days learning about what I love and growing up. Its definitely scary as I don’t totally know how to do my washing, I’m pretty lazy and I don’t like spending time in the supermarket looking for the best and cheapest deals. These are a few things I’m going to have to learn as I’m moving away from home and living in a flat/my first home away from home. 

I picture this year as being a huge one, I feel like I have unrealistic expectations and put way to much pressure on myself. However, the plus side is that I am determined to be successful and do what I love. No time for a year off partying or traveling just yet… 

I am also extremely excited for ‘bigger and better things’ coming from a small town where everyone knows everyone and everyone knows everything, I’m looking forward to meeting people who don’t have an opinion of me and people who are interested in the things I am. People who want to see the world the way I do and have the motivation and drive to do awesome shit. Hawkes Bay is an extremely closed in place. I know him, I know her, she slept with him, he cheated on her…. phrases heard and said (guilty) on a daily basis. Now I know this is teenage life; the drama and conflicting times but, what I really am looking forward to this year is leaving this sort of crap behind and finding out who my ride or die people are. Those who love me and want to stay in my life will and those who don’t simply won’t. Nothing sad or upsetting about it, I see it as a positive thing to see the quality people in your life. 

A problem I have with ‘The Bay’ is the lack of respect we have for each other. If I could endorse one thing that is respect others like you want to be respected. I see it everyday people disrespecting each other yet, expecting the up most respect in return. I feel like we are only concerned with ourselves and that is where the drama begins. We are all mates but don’t have a real understanding of what the word ‘friendship’ means. Heres some tips: loyalty, respect, love, kindness, being positive towards each other, having fun, being each others rock when times get tough. These are some things of what friendship means and I think we often forget that these things are important. We are then left wondering why we are feeling alone.. well take a look (unbiasedly) at your actions and you could find the answer there.  I see 2016 as a year to grow up, have fun and be nice and care about each other. 

Its going to be such a great year lets not ruin it by being assholes to each other.
